🎙️✍️Notability's New Feature: "Audio Transcripts"

Notability has added a new feature for transcribing audio (from version 14.4).

Notability now allows you to import audio recordings from other apps, in addition to recording audio within Notability itself.

For example, you can add a voice memo recorded in another app to Notability via the share button.

When you open Notability, a new note with the added audio is created.

What are the benefits of the audio transcription feature in Notability?

🤔What's Great About Transcription in Notability?

The transcription feature in Notability is accessed from the sidebar on the right, next to the "Pages" tab.

Opening the tab starts the audio analysis, which is not particularly fast.

It took about 3 minutes to transcribe 15 minutes of audio.

Tapping on the transcribed text part allows you to play the audio from that specific part.

By long-pressing the transcribed text, you can copy a section of the text.

You can then paste this text into your note.

Currently, there are no features for adding text via drag & drop or copying the entire text.

🔍Searchable Audio Data

The advantage of having audio data transcribed is that it becomes searchable.

You can search for keywords on Notability's home screen or within a note, and the transcribed text will be included in the search results.

If you record audio during meetings or brainstorming sessions, you can later search for specific content discussed.

Even if you're alone, you can record voice memos of your ideas and later organize or search through them.

The benefit of transcription is that it makes the invisible (audio) easily visible.

📚How Notability Changes Note-Taking and Information Management

With its combination of audio recording and handwriting features, Notability significantly enhances the efficiency of information management.

Using the transcription feature, you can convert recorded audio from meetings, lectures, interviews, etc., into text, making it instantly searchable for important information.

This greatly improves the organization and accessibility of information, offering a more advanced note-taking experience than before.

The audio transcription feature is available for unlimited use with the Notability Plus subscription plan. For the Starter and Classic plans, it's available for up to one hour. If you plan to use it extensively, a subscription is necessary.

And that's what you can do with the "Audio Transcription Feature in Notability."
